Founder and Principal of Albertz & Associates, Mark has offered income tax preparation for individuals and small businesses since 1978. From modest beginnings with four clients, Mark now serves individuals and small businesses in 14 states from Maine to California. Over the years, it’s become common for clients who find him in the Cincinnati area to continue to use him as their accountant when they move elsewhere.

Mark was born and raised in Cincinnati, and has lived on the West Side for more than 55 years. He is a graduate of Xavier University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Finance. He has been a CPA since 1978 and is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Throughout his career he has served as Statewide Manager of Reimbursement for the largest Blue Cross plan in Ohio, Controller for an HMO in the Greater Cincinnati area, and Director of Finance for United Healthcare.

In addition to his full-time business, Mark is a member of the Board of Directors for the Sharonville Chamber of Commerce. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati, where he taught accounting from 1984 to 2005. He has been married to his wife Marion for more than 30 years and has three children.

Jennifer K. Funk, Manager of Operations

Jenny joined the Albertz & Associates team in 1999, bringing more than 25 years of managerial experience to the company. She has worked as a Branch Administrator for ITT Business Communication Corp., a Marketing Administrator for NCR, and Office Manager of Mid-Valley CareNet.

Jenny is a native of Middletown and has lived in the Southern Ohio area for more than 40 years. She is the former President of the Springdale chapter of Business Network International (BNI). She was also a part-time student at Miami University of Middletown, working toward a degree in Business Marketing Technology. She has been married to her husband Jim for more than 19 years.
